Our tailor-made art curriculum is designed to allow all children to explore their creativity and try new techniques. Children will begin exploring art in EYFS and this will continue to progress up to Year 6. The children will use their sketchbooks to practice observational drawing, sketching, planning and to form their creative ideas. Throughout their time at Stafford Leys, children will have the opportunity to use acrylic paint, watercolour, silk paint, chalk pastels and oil pastel to create different effects and discover colour mixing techniques. There is also the opportunity to create 3D art using clay, cardboard, wire and textiles, this may be through collage or to create a sculpture. We have a wide variety of artists, craftsmen and designers that the children will learn about and reflect the work of in their art journey.

We have lots of opportunities throughout the year for children to show their best art skills in different competitions! Our children are always encouraged to show their creativity and express themselves through their art work.
