Ofsted

Message from the Headteacher

Stafford Leys is a school that has undergone some major changes over the last few years. We have added a Year 6 and expanded to take 90 children in every school year. To cope with these changes, we have invested heavily in the classroom environments. The school now has a modern, attractive layout that offers inspiration to our children and staff.

Our 2 most recent years of published data were in 2018 and 2019. Children left Year 6 in July 2018 above the national average and making expected progress. In maths, the children made more than expected progress. In July 2019 our children were making expected or better progress in all subjects. In maths and GPS tests, our children are performing in the top 5% of schools nationally.

We are striving to be the best school in Leicestershire. Three years in a row, our attainment data in Year 6 has jumped considerably and we expect to maintain our high standards moving forwards. During the pandemic we were visited by Ofsted and despite the challenges of Covid and a new framework, they graded us as a Good school.

We strongly believe that a school should help develop the whole child. Our commitment has always been to Inspire Confidence, Compassion, Character and Fun. Children at Stafford Leys have a wide range of extra-curricular activities to take part in and we encourage children to take on responsibility throughout the school. This includes; House Captains, Sport Leaders, Librarians, Fruit Monitors, Role models, School Council members and our Eco-committee. Behaviour in and out of classrooms is exemplary and everyone who visits or works with our children comments on their positive attitude.

I would encourage anyone thinking about where to send their children to visit our school and see the amazing work that is happening here. Visits can be arranged by contacting the school office.
