Music

Stafford Leys enjoys a range of musical activities as well as a whole school music curriculum.  Children are encouraged in their music lessons to experience melody, rhythm, pulse and timbre through a wide range of musical activities.  These include making their own music, listening to music of all genres and selecting musical instruments to copy and create group and class compositions. Pupils are also given the opportunity to learn the ocarina and sing as part of the Year 3 and Year 4 curriculum.

In addition, Stafford Leys offers a number of music clubs including hand bells, recorder, boomwhackers and a Key Stage 1 music and art appreciation club. Many children participate in guitar, drum and keyboard lessons taught at school by visiting music teachers.
