Geography

Geography at our school is delivered through a tailor-made curriculum that embraces a cross-curricular approach, connecting geographical knowledge and skills with other areas of learning. Our curriculum covers key Geographical Concepts such as: Place, Space, Environment and Earth Systems. These concepts look at locational knowledge, place knowledge, human and physical geography, and geographical skills and fieldwork. Other inter-weaving concepts of scale, interpretation, diversity, time and interconnections.

Through engaging lessons, children develop their understanding of the world around them, exploring environments near and far while building essential map-reading, data interpretation, and enquiry skills. This approach nurtures curious, informed learners who are equipped to engage thoughtfully with local and global issues.

Our Geography curriculum plays a key part in teaching sustainability and awareness of the global environmental issues affecting our planet. Through topics such as; climate change, bio-diversity and resource depletion, children learn about how humans can impact the environment and how it is possible to live more sustainably through our future actions.
